Hi, I'm Amy Sandoval

I've been formally studying music since I was 10. My first instrument was the flute... which I hated. However, I really discovered my musical identity when I picked up the electric bass. It made me truly believe that every person who desires to play music has an instrument soul mate! That's when I decided to go to college to study the electric bass and get my BS in Music Education.

I can't brag that music always came naturally for me. I struggled a lot, and had to work hard to wrap my mind around what came naturally for others. The confidence I now have has taught me how to teach others well.

After teaching for 15 years at music stores, public schools, and giving private lessons, one of many things I have learned is that people (musicians) need an opportunity to work on their craft and grow without fear of eyes and ears on them. I created SoundPaint LLC as a safe escape from those who would criticize you (including yourself), observe your current abilities and make a snap decision of all you're capable of.

I deeply believe that songwriting stems from a creative desire and it needs an exploratory approach where sound makes you laugh, cry, think...anything we humans can reach with our emotions. We express ourselves with color and light at a supersonic rate. Notes are my colors, and I use them to paint the full gamut of what we feel.
